Puppy Love

Yesterday my husband Scott surprised us with a golden retriever puppy. She is the cutest thing ever and the kids took to her right away. I am so in love, she melts my heart. We have named her Abbey.
For those of you who know me well, you remember my Dalmatian Lacey. My parents gave her to me on Christmas the year I was diagnosed with lupus and had to move home from college to heal. I believe she was a huge part in my recovery. Sadly, we had to put her down after the girls were born as she had cancer. Dogs spread so much love and healing in people's lives. I can not wait to see what joy Abbey brings to ours.

  2. You are my hero! Good for you for sharing your story. Yours is a story of hope for people with lupus. Your strong spirit and positive attitude (along with some puppy love) have brought you to this point in your life. You carried those babies to 37 weeks by sheer will and determination. Kristi, you have known unbearable pain and amazing joy. You will help raise awareness of lupus in this blog and offer empathy and encouragement to others. I am proud and honored to be your mom.
I love you always and forever!
